WHO WE ARE
Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Society (MUUS) was founded 42 years ago to establish a liberal, judgement free, safe place of worship for all who join us. We have thrived and built a welcoming congregation in Woodbury, CT.
Since its inception in 1980, the Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Society has moved from worship house to worship house. Our roots are in our name, Mattatuck, which is a Native word for the region of Northwest Connecticut that we call home. Now, with the assistance of our Legacy Gifts Funds, we have been able to purchase a fantastic piece of land in Woodbury, CT, on which our Forever Home will stand.
A GROWING COMMUNITY
We are growing! MUUS now has more members and new families joining thanks to our increased online presence through our website and social media. We are dedicated to creating a place to serve our members, community and future generations of UU. This meetinghouse will be a space for MUUS to be seen, be together and carry the message of love and justice that enriches the lives of our community.
